Melita Hume Winners!

I have to admit that I spent the morning watching my emails for news of the Melita Hume Prize, and 2015 sees two winners! Big congratulations to Maria Apichella and Tony Chan. I am really looking forward to reading their collections next year!

It was lovely to be mentioned by this year's judge, Tony Martinez De Las Rivas in his citation, which you can read here.

Tomorrow night I'm reading from my shortlisted manuscript at the Caves, Bears & Pages event at The Ink Factory, Dublin.

The Melita Hume Poetry Prize 2015

I was delighted to hear in April that I had been longlisted for The Melita Hume Poetry Prize 2015. Not long after that I got the even better news that I have made the shortlist. The competition involves submitting a 50 page (minimum) poetry manuscript to Eyewear Publishing. That was a big job, but worthwhile. Also shortlisted is fellow-Dublin poet, Michael Naghten Shanks. It was great to see another Irish poet, on the shortlist.

The winner will be announced in early June. Watch out for the profiles of each shortlisted poet on the Eyewear blog.
