Teaching

Julie teaches creative writing, literature, and professional practice at undergraduate and graduate levels. She has acted as a sessional instructor, lecturer, workshop facilitator, and visiting writer in a variety institutions, including University College Dublin, Ulster University, Ryerson University (Toronto), and Concordia University (Montréal). Among the modules she teaches are Writing, Editing & Publishing, Writing Poetry, Introduction to Creative Writing, Introduction to Non-Fiction, Elements of Criticism, and Rhetorical Poetries. She routinely gives presentations to writing programmes as a visiting writer.
