Dr Julie Morrissy teaches creative writing, literature, and professional practice at undergraduate and graduate levels. She has held teaching roles as a sessional instructor, lecturer, workshop facilitator, and visiting writer in a variety third-level institutions, including University College Dublin, Ulster University, Ryerson University, Toronto and Concordia University, Montréal. Among the modules she teaches are Writing, Editing & Publishing, Writing Poetry, Introduction to Creative Writing, Introduction to Non-Fiction, Elements of Criticism, and Rhetorical Poetries. She routinely gives presentations to writing programmes as a visiting writer.
